Bellingrath Gardens and Home celebrates Mother’s Day with an annual concert by the Mobile Youth Symphony Orchestra. Even though the world famous azaleas have finished blooming, the roses and daylilies are just getting going. It’s the perfect time to visit the gardens and spend a romantic or family friendly weekend in Mobile Alabama.

Enjoy a self-guided tour of one of the largest collections in the country.  Also, Lilac Sunday is the only day of the year when picnicking is permitted at the arboretum. If the weather is nice, you can take mom downtown for a stroll on the Boston Freedom Trail too.

If you’ve never seen a cactus in bloom, you will not believe the iridescent colors!  DBG celebrates moms by offering a free admission to all moms with a child’s ticket purchased. They also have a special Bouquets and Mimosas event where you make a bouquet with a free mimosa.

Springtime in Carlsbad means strawberries and festivals. The 55-acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers are almost done for the season. Mother’s Day is the final day of the season with performances throughout the day from the colorful dancing of the Rancho Buena Vista High School’s Ballet Folklorico.
